An acclaimed Indigenous dance company from Canada, Kaha:wi Dance Theatre comes to Japan for the first time to present the remount of their debut, Kaha:wi, a fascinating piece, beautifully expressing the philosophies of Iroquoian culture. An emerging Indigenous dance group, Ainu Rebels will also present their contemporary expression of the northern Japanese Indigenous culture.
The program also consists of lectures by specialists of Canadian and Japanese Indigenous cultures, as well as artists’ talk by both companies’ choreographers to further understand Indigenous cultures of both countries.
